In this coming federal election we are asking you to STOP for a moment before you vote 'as usual' and think about your future. The World Health Organisation says climate change will affect human health through infectious diseases, disturbing food-producing ecosystems, and increasing the frequency of extreme weather events. Climate change is caused by the burning of fossil fuels and vegetation clearing.
Healthy ecosystems are needed to support priority areas such as health, security and the economy, but there are clear signs that not all our political leaders are taking this seriously.
Threatened species will be the first casualties of climate change, environmental degradation and unsustainable practices, but they won't be the last.
Now is the time to send a strong message. Talk to your local candidates and give your vote to someone with a sustainable plan for the future. A safe and healthy future for our children: Surely nothing matters more than that?
